International Ironworker Festival

OFFICIAL RULES

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place winners for each event

 

Spud Throw

  • This is a skilled event
  • Only festival spuds will be thrown
  • Spuds must stick in target
  • Spuds knocked off target still count
  • Winner will be based on most points accumulated
  • Spuds thrower at 25 ft. distance from target

Rivet Throw

  • This is a one minute timed event

  • Catcher must catch rivet in catch can

  • Catcher can must be held by one hand only

  • Rivet must be placed in 5 - gallon bucket after each catch

  • Final score is based on the total rivets in bucket at the end of the event

  • Thrower stands 30 ft from catcher

Rod Tying

  • This is a timed event

  • Time will stop when all ties are made

  • Winner is based on number of correct ties in fastest time

 

 

Knot Tying

  • This is a timed event

  • You must tie 6 knots

  • Winner is based on number of correct ties in fastest time

Column Climb

Field Event And Championship

  • This a timed event

  • You will be timed going up only

  • You must hit the bell at the top of the column

  • No special shoes

  • Standard bridgeman's shoes. Gloves are optional

  • No resin will be allowed

 

 

In case of a tie in any event, there will be a playoff to determine the final winner.

Decision of the judges is final. Skilled events are for Ironworkers and retirees only.
